2024 Best Practice Workshops

The Group has done much work to develop and refine best practices over the years. We have published articles, established working groups and convened briefings and workshops.

Four Best Practice Approach Workshops held in 2024 are featured here. They comprised an important follow on to the Group's very successful 2022 Natural Resources Symposium and the 2023 one year redux program, both held at The George Washington University Law School.

Following the 2023 program, it was determined that the best "next step" would be to convene small workshops on the following key issues related to natural resource liabilities and related issues under US laws - PFAS; Climate; Remediation; Emergency Response. Each of the four interactive, multi-stakeholder Workshops involved legal, scientific, technical and policy experts from public and private sectors. These sessions were convened to work through and refine each of the Best Practice Approach Frameworks in order to identify possible needed refinements or expansions.
